Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Junior Litigation Associate to join its Litigation Practice Group in Anchorage, AK. The associate will engage with clients in the agriculture, renewable energy, timber, and mining sectors, providing comprehensive litigation support.

Duties

• Prepare pleadings and draft briefs, motions to dismiss, and summary judgment motions.
• Support and execute discovery, including written discovery and privilege logs.
• Take and defend fact depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Assist in trial preparation and collaborate with trial teams.
• Interface directly with clients and opposing counsel as needed.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school; admitted to the Alaska bar or eligible for prompt admission.
• One to three years of general/commercial litigation experience at a comparable firm.
• Experience with motions practice, depositions, and complex discovery.
• Familiarity with Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence; clerkship or trial experience is a plus.
• Exceptional writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with e-discovery platforms and litigation technology.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the Alaska bar or eligible for admission.
