Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Tarrytown, NY, is seeking a skilled litigation attorney licensed in Connecticut to join its team in a hybrid capacity. Duties:

• Manage litigation from inception through expert discovery or trial

• Represent clients in court proceedings, motion hearings, depositions, and conferences

• Draft and review pleadings, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda

• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategies

• Prepare deposition summaries, litigation status reports, and case evaluations

• Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing parties

• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, legal opinions, and recommendations

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Connecticut

• Prior experience handling civil litigation matters, particularly in general or professional liability

• Demonstrated ability to independently draft legal documents and manage case files

• Strong oral advocacy and deposition-taking skills

• Familiarity with both state and federal rules of civil procedure

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Connecticut State Bar (required)

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing, organizational, and case management abilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

• Experience with LexisNexis legal research tools

• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced litigation environment
