A law firm seeks an experienced employee benefits attorney in New York, NY. The candidate should have at least 8 years of practice experience and expertise in employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). This role is open to various Eastern and Texas offices, including New York.

Duties

• Counsel employee benefit plan sponsors on ERISA and IRS requirements for KSOPs and ESOPs.
• Negotiate and draft executive employment agreements and incentive plans.
• Advise on employee benefits issues, focusing on ESOPs in corporate mergers and acquisitions.
• Review merger and acquisition agreements for ESOP-related matters.
• Provide compliance advice regarding Internal Revenue Code Sections 280G and 409A.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of practice experience in employee benefits law.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and motivation.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong academic credentials.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of New York or eligibility for admission.
