Position Description:

The Assistant Director, Digital Marketing will be responsible for Louisville Athletics' digital marketing initiatives, including email marketing, analytics/reporting, paid advertising campaigns (display, search, social media, etc.), website advertising, and mobile app development and messaging. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of customer journeys and will leverage all digital channels to optimize communication touchpoints, grow the customer base, generate new business, and enhance fan retention efforts. This position will report to the Associate AD, Strategy & Innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute the comprehensive digital marketing calendar for the athletic department
  • Build customer journeys and advertising campaigns across social and digital platforms, including but not limited to, placing pixels, developing audience segments, and custom links to track all assets, with a primary focus on customer acquisition and revenue generation
  • Manage the copy writing, editing, and proofreading for ad campaigns, emails, text messages, app push notifications, and website landing pages.
  • Lead the department's email communication strategy to deliver timely, relevant, and engaging information to season ticket members, donors, and fans
  • Pull, distribute, and analyze regular digital marketing reports to identify opportunities to optimize the effectiveness of all messaging campaigns
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Sales teams to maximize conversion rates to retain and grow our database
  • Create and distribute post-game and post-season surveys to collect fan feedback
  • Update select marketing and ticket sales related content on gocards.com
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Creative Communications, Ticket Sales, Ticket Operations and the Cardinal Athletic Fund to ensure alignment of communication with all external units of the athletic department
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
  • Be able to work home Football and Men's Basketball games, as well as Season Ticket Member events
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Experience in digital media, interactive marketing, or creative services required
  • Experience with a large-scale email service provider required
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS)
  • Understanding of UI/UX best practices and trends
  • Experience with a coding language (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices
  • Sports or entertainment work experience preferred
