The candidate will be working with investment professionals in connection with bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Providing advice on the structuring of distressed and new investments. Retaining, managing, and coordinating outside counsel. Supporting and driving diversity and inclusion efforts, including the retention of diverse outside counsel. Should have a relevant law firm or in-house experience in bankruptcy and restructuring (minimum of 7 years); strong problem-solving, communication, and client management skills; strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and operate independently in a fast-paced environment; excellent judgment, including the ability to provide pragmatic advice and escalate issues when appropriate; ability to collaborate with clients, colleagues, and corporate partners at all levels, including senior management. Knowledge of the US regulatory framework for private funds, such as the Investment Advisers Act, the Securities Act of 1933, and ERISA, is a plus. Familiarity with investment products (private funds/SMAs/CLOs/BDCs), is a plus. Familiarity with private credit, funds, and ESG, is a plus. Cross-border or international experience, is a plus. Admitted to practice law in at least one state and able to obtain an in-house counsel license, if required. Preferably work from the PPC office located in either Chicago, IL, New York City, NY, or Newark, NJ, but we will consider candidates able to work from PPC office locations in Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA, or Minneapolis, MN. A hybrid work arrangement is available.
