Job Overview:
An internationally recognized law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded Trademark & Copyright Practice Group. This role is ideal for an attorney with 5+ years of experience handling a range of intellectual property matters, including domestic and international trademark prosecution, TTAB proceedings, global anti-counterfeiting strategies, and comprehensive IP portfolio management. The position offers the opportunity to work with name-brand clients on complex trademark and copyright issues in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Location Options:

  • Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios

  • Prosecute trademarks and represent clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the TTAB

  • Develop and execute anti-counterfeiting enforcement strategies on a global scale

  • Provide legal advice on copyright registration, enforcement, and litigation support

  • Draft and negotiate trademark licensing and coexistence agreements

  • Conduct clearance reviews and risk assessments for new brand launches

  • Collaborate with attorneys in other practice areas to address client needs holistically

  • Deliver strategic guidance to clients in diverse industries on brand protection and IP use

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in trademark and copyright law

  • Hands-on experience with TTAB litigation, global trademark enforcement, and anti-counterfeiting matters

  • Ability to independently manage complex client portfolios and high-stakes IP matters

  • Demonstrated success working with sophisticated, multinational clients

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • Strong academic record required

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Must be eligible for admission in the jurisdiction of the preferred office location

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with excellent time management

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, client-focused approach

  • Familiarity with IP management software and legal research tools preferred
