Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm based in Miami, FL, is currently looking for a talented and experienced Patent Agent to join their dynamic intellectual property team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the patent prosecution process, especially within the medical device and bioengineering fields. The ideal candidate should have a passion for innovation and possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence (AI), computer science, or similar technical disciplines.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications, focusing on medical devices and bioengineering innovations
• Respond to office actions and engage in patent-related correspondence
• Conduct prior art searches and assist in patentability assessments
• Collaborate in the preparation of legal opinions and strategies
• Provide expertise and advice on technical aspects of patent law
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the firm's clients

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Patent Agent
• Strong experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications
• Proficiency in responding to office actions and prior art searches
• Experience in medical devices, bioengineering, or related technical fields
• Ability to conduct in-depth research and analyze technical information
• Admitted to practice before the USPTO

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

Certifications:

• USPTO registration required

Skills:

• Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail
• In-depth knowledge of patent laws and regulations
