Responsibilities:
Supporting IT projects through the lens of virtualization, including a broad set of technology and business solutions
Defining and executing a comprehensive VMware deployment strategy
Functioning as a support specialist for VMware tooling and processes improvements
Acting as the primary support specialist for our enterprise datacenter transition to VMware on public cloud
Working to resolve service interruptions and participate in root cause analysis during post-mortems
Supporting maintenance windows as required
Maintaining the ability to quickly identify trends, and issues, recommend workable solutions
Supporting our problem management practice post incident
Bringing together technical, procedural, and financial data to reduce toil and support recommendations
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in technology related field and 4-6 years’ experience in the qualified areas above
Solid understanding and experience with VMware on AWS or VMware on GCP
Ability to interpret security requirements and apply them to infrastructure or software systems
Experience managing VMware datacenter architecture
Ability to triage, execute root cause analysis, and be decisive under pressure
Solid understanding of network topologies and associated security including NSX provisioning and maintenance
Desire to reduce technical inefficiencies and a commitment to reducing toil
Proficient communication skills with an ability to reach both technical and non-technical audiences, in person and virtually
Ability to provide qualitative feedback and facilitate a learning environment through the exchange of ideas
Expert ability in capacity planning including dense resource utilization, cost to resource optimization
Forward thinking mindset, with the ability to plan, manage, and mature technology roadmaps
Preferred Qualifications:
Coding or scripting expertise (python, bash shell scripting)
VMware Cloud Certifications
