Paralegal – Commercial Property (12 month FTC)
Reporting line
You will report to the Head of Legal Outdoor, UK and Ireland
Overview of role
Join Global’s friendly and collaborative legal team to support the Outdoor advertising division with a focus on its commercial property portfolio (you’ll see Global’s large advertising billboards all over the streets of London and other cities and towns - those all require contracts!).
This is a paralegal role covering real estate transactions and disputes. Over time, as you develop your experience and knowledge of Global’s business, there will be opportunities to work on commercial contracts and other matters for Outdoor and Global’s wider media business which includes well known radio brands such as Capital, Heart and Classic FM.
The work you do could count as qualifying work experience for the purposes of the SQE route and, for the right candidate, this role has the potential to become permanent.

Measures of success –
In the first few months, you will have
Undertaken a wide variety of real estate legal work within the Outdoor business.
Built positive relationships of trust with your legal and business partners including the Outdoor Partnerships team which manages the advertising site portfolio.
Made valuable contributions to the wider legal function including responding general legal queries, supporting process improvements and document management.
Responsibilities of the role
Providing legal support to the UK and Ireland Outdoor advertising businesses.
Drafting and negotiating a broad range of real estate and commercial contracts, such as licenses and leases for advertising panels and confidentiality agreements.
Completing tasks such as searches on the Land Registry e-services business portal, completing Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns and completing Land Registry applications.
Supporting the Outdoor Partnerships team to resolve disputes relating to advertising panels with licensors, landlords and advertisers.
Keeping up to date on changes in the law and legislation.
Assisting on the standardisation of legal templates.
Assisting on the delivery of legal training to the Outdoor business.

Experience:
Some real estate experience including drafting and negotiating licences and leases.
Knowledge of basic land law and how to use the Land Registry business e-services portal, when and how to submit Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns and when and how to submit Land Registry applications.
Experience of dealing with property disputes and property litigation.
Some in-house paralegal experience (whether gained on a secondment or in employment).
