Business Development Manager - Litigation
The candidate will work for the Marketing team as a Business Development Manager for Litigation Department. Will work with the leadership of the department, and lawyers nationwide, on a wide range of marketing and business development projects and initiatives. Will be reporting to the Director of Business Development, these positions will work closely with Litigation department leadership, practice group leaders, other lawyers and marketing staff to generate ideas, take initiative, manage projects, drive follow-up and deliver stellar service and superior work product. Responsibilities include creating practice group marketing and business development plans; initiating and managing cross-department marketing initiatives; providing business development coaching and direction; coordinating, tracking and monitoring business development efforts and working with our Proposal Team to prepare compelling and persuasive RFP responses and pitch materials. Other essential functions include developing and managing the marketing budget for assigned practices; implementing pre-event and follow-up protocols to help lawyers generate leads and build relationships; working with the events team to produce seminars, webinars, and other events; working with the Communications team to identify media opportunities. Will be energetic and organized with a positive, can-do outlook; a strong work ethic; exemplary project management skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong team orientation; and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements include a college degree with 5+ years’ experience in marketing, communications, or business development (law firm or other professional services marketing experience a plus). Previous experience working with relevant practices strongly preferred. Some travel may be required.
