The candidate will provide advice and assistance for a broad range of legal matters relating to the development, construction, financing, ownership and operation of energy-related assets. Primarily transactional, with an emphasis on drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts to ensure that **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.’s interests are most favorably advanced. Work closely with a team of project developers and utility operations managers, with occasional responsibility for engaging and managing outside counsel. Certain financing, environmental, compliance and regulatory matters. Other responsibilities to be identified from time to time. A JD. degree and strong academic record (law journal experience preferred). Licensed to practice law in at least one state. Should have 3-6 years of energy-related experience at a reputable law firm and/or utility. Experience with commercial contracts, preferably relating to engineering, equipment procurement, construction, consulting, financing, partnerships/JV’s, utility operations, asset management, interconnection, and/or real estate. Experience working with electric utilities and permitting authorities. Possess a working understanding of FERC and RTO/ISO processes and requirements. Familiarity with project development, project financing, real estate, construction, and/or environmental permitting is preferred. Desire to develop skills in new areas. Excellent work ethic, communication skills, drafting skills, business acumen and commercial judgment. Ability to deliver a high level of client service and perform excellent work under time pressure. Proficient in providing business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems.
