Pasadena, CA — Amid Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) reports of a slight dip in the jobless rate in Texas, EmploymentCrossing (www.employmentcrossing.com), one of the leading job boards in the world, has added about 80,664 jobs in Texas. The job site provides instant access to a comprehensive pool of job listings based on a specific industry or job profile. EmploymentCrossing has more than 2 million jobs listed in its database, collected from more than 8,000 job boards and 250,000 employer websites.

According to the TWC report, the jobless rate in Texas dipped from 4.5% in May to 4.4% in June. About 47,700 non-farm jobs were added by Texas employers in June, contrary to national employment trends. Nearly 10,700 jobs were added in the professional and business services sector, while 8,400 jobs were added to the trade, transportation, and utilities sectors, according to the commission’s figures. The construction sector gained almost twice as many jobs (2,200) as it did in May.

''The job boom recorded in Texas in June signifies an optimistic future for the job market in the state, and EmploymentCrossing has posted a record number of jobs too,” says Harrison Barnes, CEO of EmploymentCrossing.

The job growth in Texas is no mean feat. The TWC report states that the addition of nearly 48,000 jobs in June is the second-largest monthly job gain since July 2005. Additionally, this is the 17th consecutive month in which the education and health services sector saw gains, adding 7,000 jobs in June.

According to Texas job searches, the top five job titles on EmploymentCrossing are:
  • Healthcare jobs (14,430 jobs)
  • Managerial jobs (11,785 jobs)
  • Information technology jobs (9,230 jobs)
  • Engineering jobs (7,570 jobs)
  • Nursing jobs (6,498 jobs)
Barnes adds, ''EmploymentCrossing tries to leverage the existing job market of Texas with the help of quality efforts put in by hundreds of research analysts who collect jobs from every nook and cranny of the country. Unlike other job boards that simply herd masses of job listings without looking back, EmploymentCrossing weeds out spam and jobs outside one’s niche, allowing job seekers to search efficiently and specifically.”

EmploymentCrossing added a whopping 180,309 new US jobs to its site this week, and the company aims to boost its job count in the coming weeks. For more information on EmploymentCrossing, log on to www.employmentcrossing.com.
