Pasadena, CA — Newly elected Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has promised to bring in 250,000 to the state by 2015.

Walker, who was sworn in on December 30, and assumed office on January 3, has already made it clear that his priorities are to increase jobs by easing the regulatory burdens for local businesses.

His first five bills immediately drew criticism from trial lawyers and environmentalists as being to lenient of businesses at the expense of consumers and the environment. But Walker says the state needs to be more business friendly in order to attract more jobs. The Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the state's main business association is supportive of Walker's proposed bills.

The state under the new administration has already succeeded in rejecting the federal government's $810 million meant for a high speed train from Madison-to-Milwaukee. He said that the train project would have created few permanent jobs and been an overall drain on the state taxpayers.

Wisconsin meanwhile has an unemployment rate of 7.6 percent in November. But EmploymentCrossing, a job aggregator website, has been able to gather over 27,000 job postings in Wisconsin till date. EmploymentCrossing CEO A. Harrison Barnes says that the top job sectors are healthcare (7,291), blue-collar (2,717) and information technology (2,174).
