E-Verify bill touted as solution to solve America's unemployment problem, EmploymentCrossing finds 390,000 jobs.

Pasadena, CA — Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) has come up with a bill that he and his supporters are saying is a big step towards solving the nation's unemployment problem.

Lamar Smith's solution is in the bill that he has proposed - Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2164). If the bill is passed it will make it mandatory for all American employers to use the E-Verify system on all current and new employees that they hire. As of now, the E-Verify system is optional for employers, but Smith sees the system as an opportunity to expunge all the illegal aliens in the workforce.

Smith says that with unemployment at 9% the jobs are scare and there are seven million illegal workers in the country. The jobs that these illegal workers are doing should go to legal workers.

E-Verify was created in 1996. It gives employers the option of electronically verifying that their new employees are legally authorized to work in the country. The program can quickly confirm 99.5% of the people who are legally eligible for work. It does this by checking the Social Security numbers of these employees against the ones stored in the databases of the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security.

Only EmploymentCrossing consolidates every job it can find in the domain and puts all of the job listings it locates in one place.

  • We have more jobs than any other job board.
  • We list jobs you will not find elsewhere that are hidden in small regional publications and employer websites
  • We collect jobs from more than 4,429,376 websites and post them on our site.
  • We are private, and therefore far fewer people are applying for the jobs on our site than are applying for those on public job boards.
What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
