Microsoft Cuts Hundreds of Jobs, Prompting More Searches at EmploymentCrossing.com

July 24, 2012   |  PDF version  PDF version

July 17, 2012 — Pasadena, CA — Even the largest companies in the world have been affected by the most recent economic dip. Case in point, Microsoft recently cut several hundred jobs in an effort to streamline its business and control costs as computer sales have dropped and other ventures haven't paid off as handsomely as they initially expected.

While the actual number of people laid off hasn't been released, it's expected that several hundred got the ax, mostly in the advertising and marketing departments. After evaluating their operations costs, Microsoft decided to cut staff and save money. The company cut a few other people in marketing earlier this year to reduce redundancies.

Employees were notified on Wednesday, June 11, of the layoffs. No one wants to get this news, but even for those who did there is hope. In fact, EmploymentCrossing.com makes it possible to find a new job very quickly, even when the economy is somewhat unstable.

How is this possible, you might be wondering? EmploymentCrossing.com lists open positions in every industry and every area across the country so you can quickly and easily search and find new jobs to apply for. Plus, you can apply for these jobs all from within the site, so the applications process is greatly streamlined. Many of the jobs listed on the site aren't listed elsewhere, so your chances of getting hired are greatly increased.

At the moment, there are nearly 40,000 marketing jobs listed on EmploymentCrossing.com. At least one of these positions is bound to be a good fit for those recently laid off Microsoft employees. If you've been laid off recently or are just interested in knowing what's out there, it's an excellent idea to check out this site. You never know what you might find!
