Microsoft Cuts Hundreds of Jobs, Prompting More Searches at

July 17, 2012 — Pasadena, CA — Even the largest companies in the world have been affected by the most recent economic dip. Case in point, Microsoft recently cut several hundred jobs in an effort to streamline its business and control costs as computer sales have dropped and other ventures haven't paid off as handsomely as they initially expected.

While the actual number of people laid off hasn't been released, it's expected that several hundred got the ax, mostly in the advertising and marketing departments. After evaluating their operations costs, Microsoft decided to cut staff and save money. The company cut a few other people in marketing earlier this year to reduce redundancies.

Employees were notified on Wednesday, June 11, of the layoffs. No one wants to get this news, but even for those who did there is hope. In fact, makes it possible to find a new job very quickly, even when the economy is somewhat unstable.
