Northwestern Hospital to Lay Off 230, Bringing EmploymentCrossing.com to the Forefront

September 01, 2012   |  PDF version  PDF version

September 01, 2012 — Pasadena, CA — The healthcare industry continues to be impacted by the economy as Northwestern Memorial Hospital announced they have laid off 230 people in the past month alone. The layoffs were made in an attempt to cut costs by a quarter by the year 2017. There is some good news to report, however.

Some people that were laid off from Northwestern found new employment right away. In fact, 52 people have found new jobs and many more are currently being considered for about 200 job openings in the Streeterville health system.

This isn't exactly a new development, however. The hospital has cut jobs every year after annual budget reviews. This most recent layoff involved multiple departments including patient care and administration. These cuts were found to be the best way to reduce costs and improve the quality of services provided.

Though Northwestern does offer a lot of help to employees for finding new positions in other locations, they can't possible help every single one. That's why it's essential you have plenty of resources of your own. The best resource you can possibly use is EmploymentCrossing.com.

This site includes job listings in every industry imaginable so you can quickly and easily locate an open position in your area. It doesn't matter what industry you work in, as there are many openings listed on the site.
