New Jersey Business and Industry Association’s Business Outlook Survey 2013 Predicts More Hires by Businesses: Study Seconded by EmploymentCrossing Job Research Data

November 27, 2012 — Pasadena, California — The 54th annual Business Outlook Survey published by the New Jersey Business and Industry Association on Nov 23 finds business growth and demand for hires growing in the state. EmploymentCrossing data finds more jobs being directly advertised by employers in New Jersey than ever in the last three years.

The president of NJBIA, Philip Kirschner, has said “Business confidence is rising and businesses generally believe that the state of New Jersey is on the right track.” The Business Outlook Survey for New Jersey found that nineteen percent of New Jersey businesses are expecting to hire more people. Kirschner said, “We are seeing some increase in employment.” The survey results predict an eight percent net job growth in New Jersey in 2013.

NJBIA’s study is seconded by EmploymentCrossing’s job research data. EmploymentCrossing, America’s leading job site also reported an increase in the number of jobs in the New Jersey private sector in the last 12 months. This month there were 41,268 jobs added for New Jersey with more than 33,000 jobs from direct employers.

Harrison Barnes, CEO of EmploymentCrossing, was upbeat over the jobs trend in the private sector in New Jersey and said, “The NJBIA has made an accurate prediction about the job outlook at New Jersey, and the growing number of direct employer jobs in the state over the past few months at EmploymentCrossing affirms their findings.”

EmploymentCrossing currently lists 1,925,210 jobs in the United States, out of which 1,490,289 job openings were added last month with 1,252,357 being direct employer jobs.
