EmploymentCrossing Jobs Data Confirms Latest US Jobs Data Growth Trend Continuing into December

December 11, 2012 — Pasadena, California — The November U.S. Jobs Report published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on December 7, 2012, showed positive growth in some sectors like healthcare continuing throughout November. The reporting of new openings over the first week of December by the jobs research data from EmploymentCrossing confirms that the employment sectors that showed positive growth in November, are here to stay.

According to the BLS jobs report for November, there was a rise in retail trade employment, professional and business services, and health care. At the same time, employment in the information technology and allied sectors also edged up, while leisure and hospitality continued its growth. However, the construction sector is taking a beating and employment declined.

The number of job openings posted on EmploymentCrossing in November, and throughout the first week of December, confirms the growth trends continuing in sectors marked by the BLS in the same industry sectors that showed growth in its November jobs report.

By job type count on EmploymentCrossing, while 892,686 new job openings were added in the past week, 397,156 were in Healthcare, Managerial jobs accounted for 282, 331 openings and blue-collar jobs added another 203, 819. There were 230,430 new job openings found under “information technology jobs,” and there were 169,994 retail jobs. Construction jobs were not within the first six sectors with highest count of jobs added on EmploymentCrossing in December first week.

Healthcare jobs was the largest category on EmploymentCrossing in the last week with 73, 582 openings under general Healthcare, 28, 937 new jobs under Nursing, 7687 Physical Therapy jobs, 6801 Occupational Therapy jobs, 3593 new jobs in Pharmaceutical jobs, and the rest healthcare job openings clubbed under different heads like “administrative,” “Dental jobs,” “Clinical Research” and et cetera.
