Matagorda County in Texas to Get 600 Jobs Because of Steel Pipes Maker, EmploymentCrossing.com Finds 184,000 Jobs in State

Texas is also providing $6 million in support through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to close the deal on this factory. Gov. Perry’s trip to Italy last year and his meeting with the company’s top officials is said to have contributed to the firm’s decision to invest in Texas.
Tenaris already has its North American headquarters in Houston and the factory is going to be built in Bay City, the main city in Matagorda County.
The jobs data on EmploymentCrossing.com also points to an upswing in the manufacturing industry and an increase in the number of job openings in Texas. The site has been able to track down 184,000 job openings in Texas, with manufacturing accounting for 2,000 jobs.
But the biggest jobs creator in the state is the healthcare industry. As in other parts of the country, the healthcare industry is hiring for various positions, with a total of 39,000 healthcare job openings in Texas as of February 19.
Sales and retail are the other top jobs creators with around 19,000 jobs each in both the industries. There are 17,000 IT job openings and 14,000 engineering jobs in Texas.
