Medical Technologist Jobs

The Medical Technologist generally supports code of conduct and compliance related to medical rules and obligations. He adheres to all laws and regulations, handles internal policies and procedures, accreditation and also licensure requirements. The Medical Technologist works under direct supervision of the RN. The Medical Technologist provides the general maintenance and medical kits and sets all the equipment according to the RN needs. The Medical Technologist also handles the pediatric and adult ventilator circuits, prepares CVP, Swan-Ganz, arterial line and intravenous lines. The Medical Technologist has to identify malfunctioning equipment and equipment problems. He sterilizes all the medical equipments, to prevent spreading of infection and diseases. He also cleans and takes care of his medical stuff and also performs tests to detect any malfunction in advance, mostly ahead of critical operations.

To become an Medical Technologist one needs to have high school diploma/GED. The person with hospital experience is also ideal for the position. Often an Medical Technologist needs to have certificate of training of a Bio-Med course and HP Monitoring or equivalent. Knowledge of basic anatomy is also considered as a big plus for this job.
