Internship Research Jobs

The primary role of a research intern is to assist in the day to day implementation and operation of multiple research studies conducted by the unit. A research intern is responsible for coordinating marketing research focus groups, administering surveys and engaging in data entry. A research intern works with a considerable amount of paper work because all research involves a good deal of administrative work (e.g. data entry, data cleaning and generation of reports). A research intern gathers information on a particular topic that may be the subject of a proposal, client deliverable or publication and also carries out extensive internet review and research. A research intern assists in recruitment of research participants (e.g. eligibility screening, enrollment, scheduling) and administration of participant appointments (informed consent, collection of survey and biologic data, participant reimbursement). A research intern job includes library visits as appropriate to find newsletters and other relevant materials, data processing and analysis for priority briefs, assisting with survey deployment and analysis. A research intern should have knowledge of data collection and analysis to determine impacts of programs and policies.

A research intern requires undergraduate degree in science. A research intern should possess a demonstrated ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. A research intern must have the ability to work as a strong team member in addition to working independently when needed. A research intern should have excellent written/verbal communication. Computer and organizational skills are also required.
