Nuclear Chemist Jobs

A nuclear chemist provides specialist nuclear chemistry support to a specific nuclear team and, as required, across other company offices. A nuclear chemist analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine the chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of those compounds. A nuclear chemist develops, improves, and customizes products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods. A nuclear chemist compiles and analyzes test information to maximize process or equipment efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions. A nuclear chemist confers with scientists and engineers to conduct analyses of research projects, to interpret test results, or to develop nonstandard tests. A nuclear chemist undertakes office-based consultancy work and supports key clients in site operations. A nuclear chemist liaises with relevant project leaders, ensuring that all parties are kept informed of all relevant matters in relation to projects. A nuclear chemist supervises and contributes to the preparation of project deliverables for assigned sections of work.

A nuclear chemist position requires a BS or MS degree in chemistry, environmental science, or a similar field. A nuclear chemist should have experience working on a licensed nuclear site. A nuclear chemist should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to organize and prioritize, and the capacity to work well independently or within a team environment. Good IT skills are also essential.
