Air Traffic Controller/Specialist Jobs

An Aviation specialist's responsibility is to provide Air Traffic Control (ATC) strategic planning, staffing, research, and acquisition. Understanding functional requirements of the systems like data processing/data display including flight data, surveillance, weather information, etc. also comes under the responsibilities prescribed for an aviation specialist. The aviation specialist must be familiar with establishing requirements for the automated transfer of ICAO flight plans and the eventual transfer of radar hand-offs between the US, Mexico, and Canada. He or she has to prepare documents, reports, meeting minutes and actions items. The other duties of the aviation specialist include defining/optimizing system requirements under development or being deployed.

A Bachelor's degree is necessary for the job along with approximately 15 years of work experience. A person with FAA knowledge and experience and ATC operations will be considered an added benefit for the Aviation specialist position. He or she should be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Word and MS Power Point.
