California unemployment hits 14 year high

California's unemployment rate has hit 8.4 percent, a 14 year high and the third highest jobless rate in the nation.
The Golden State lost 42,000 jobs in November.
Michigan suffers from a 9.6% jobless rate, due to the crippled auto industry. Rhode Island is at 9.3%.
Seasonal sales are down, and many retail stores have reduced operations or gone out of business, such as KB Toys.
But in California, motion picture and sound recording gained 3900 jobs as studios gear up for next year's film production.
