Kentucky’s unemployment rate for November rose to 7 percent, an increase of 1.9 percent over 2007, the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet reports.

The US rate rose to 6.7 percent in November from 6.5 percent in October, the US Department of Labor said.

Since November 2007, Kentucky’s non-farm employment has fallen by 20,500 workers to 1,857,400.

November marks the largest year-over-year drop in the number of jobs in Kentucky since June 2002.

The manufacturing sector lost 1,100 jobs in November from October, down 13,800 from 2007.
