Wyoming has posted the lowest unemployment rate in the US, with 3.2%, while the nation as a whole has experienced a 26-year high in benefits claims.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics put Wyoming at the bottom of the list for November, followed by North Dakota at 3.3%, South Dakota at 3.4% and Nebraska at 3.7%.
Wyoming’s November rate is a decrease from the third quarter, which the Wyoming Economic Analysis Division is reporting as 3.6%.
Between November 2007 and November 2008, employment in Wyoming actually grew 2.8%.
The majority of other states posted job losses.
