In a report from the California Employment Development Department, Lassen County’s unemployment rate has risen to 9.9 percent for the month of November, slightly higher than the state’s overall unemployment rate of 8.4 percent for the same month.
Wayne Bienkowski, veteran’s workforce specialist for the Lassen, Plumas, and Sierra County said the unemployment rate will cross the 10 percent mark in Lassen before the close of the year.
The highest unemployment rate in the state is in Imperial County, 23.4 percent, and the lowest in Marin County, five percent.
