More than 80 businesses are looking to employ more than 2,600 workers at a job fair that was organized at Avon High School in Indiana this past Monday.

US Representative Steve Buyer’s Hoosier Job Fair included businesses such as Lowe’s, Monroe Bank, Navistar, and Nice Pak. In addition, several schools, universities, and government agencies participated as well.

Indiana’s unemployment rate jumped a half percentage point in June, giving the state’s jobless rate the highest increase in the nation.

Congressman Buyer says that in his six other job fairs nearly 10,000 people have found work.
