Since you’re viewing this online, you might know this already, but a recent study found online job boards to be the most popular form of recruitment.
According to the Invero Institute’s research, small and mid-sized companies believe online job sites are the best way to find employees.
The study questioned over 1,000 hiring managers and human resource professionals about their hiring procedures.
Hiring managers still trust the old, faithful newspapers, 75% of the time, to recruit hourly employees. Fifty-five percent of blue-collar hirings also originate from newspaper postings.
That being said, the numbers are shifting towards the Internet. Job seekers and employers alike prefer the immediate, sortable, broader resource of the Web.
Seventy-two percent of the same hiring managers believe online job boards work best for salaried, white-collar, and full-time staffing. Forty percent of blue-collar hirings come from online activity as well.
Web referrals and company websites also help the process. More than half of those surveyed have used online job boards in the past year. And, given the success rates of hirings there, that number will only rise.
