Officials from MasterBrand Cabinets Incorporated announced that the company’s Richmond plant will shut down its operations immediately. The company is cutting nearly 275 jobs, and claims its employees will receive pay and benefits for the next 60 days.
MasterBrand Cabinets claims it tried to adjust its production schedules but made the decision to shut down in Richmond because of “marketplace conditions.” The company’s customer service operations, located in Richmond as well, will not be affected.
In June, the company was planning to re-hire 260 workers for openings at its plant in Jasper that were cut earlier in the year.
MasterBrand Cabinets makes semi-custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
