The wait is over as Republican presidential candidate John McCain finally picked his running mate, and his choice was a bit of a surprise to say the least.
Today the nation was introduced to Sarah Palin. She’s a 44 year-old mother of five, and currently the governor of Alaska.
She’s what McCain feels is “exactly” what he needs.
The main question asked, of course, is that out of all the possible matches, why choose the lesser-known Sarah Palin?
In an election that will mark a lot of firsts on both sides of the ticket, McCain is looking to make a splash in the capital.
Palin is the first woman to be on a Republican ticket, and the first Alaskan as well.
As a vice president for John McCain she offers youth and balance, and the social conservative will push for political reform. Palin is a strong, aggressive contender that will no doubt give the McCain ticket a shot in its Republican arm.
When introduced at a rally in Ohio, Sarah Palin was honored, gracious, and, most importantly, ready to get to work and give nothing but her best.
Now the two will get to talking strategy, continue to greet the nation, and then hit the campaign trail.
