Economists claim that the downturn of California’s construction industry has forced many immigrant day laborers to consider alternatives, including returning home.
Since 2007, California has lost nearly 84,000 construction jobs and has seen an increase in its unemployment rate from 5.4% in August 2007 to 7.3% last month.
Studies show that about 10 to 15% of day laborers in California are getting hired daily, which is down from nearly 40% in recent years. It is also believed that single male migrants fall in the category that is most likely to return home.
I was very pleased with the EmploymentCrossing. I found a great position within a short amount of time … I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a better opportunity.
