Boston, Massachusetts, gained 18,900 jobs between July 2007 and July 2008, according to the US Department of Labor.
The nation meanwhile suffered a 0.1% decline in employment. Beantown’s education and
health sectors saw by far the largest gain, adding 10,900 jobs.
The capital of Massachusetts, the Boston metropolitan area has a population of 5.9 million.
