According to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, almost one in five employers in Central Texas plan to bring more workers to their workforce in the first quarter of 2009.

The survey also found that three-quarters of those polled will neither hire nor layoff between the first of January and the end of March.

Temple, Killeen, and Fort Hood, Texas form the metropolitan statistical area in which the survey was taken.

Dennis Bolding, a Manpower spokesman, said job prospects appear best in durable goods manufacturing, financial activities, professional and business services and education and health services for the quarter.
