Intellectual Property Specialist Jobs

An intellectual property specialist monitors implementation of intellectual property policies and procedures at the business unit level to ensure appropriate and consistent compliance. An intellectual property specialist reviews and undertakes documentation of the project team\'s intellectual assets, maintaining, planning and updating intellectual assets, technology transfer, identifying licensable technology and developing processes and infrastructure. An intellectual property specialist supervises patent summaries and searches. Interfacing with legal group relating to patent drafting and prosecution including claim-drafting strategies, response strategies, and overall portfolio strategies including patent and non-patent literature database searching are carried out by Intellectual property specialist. An intellectual property specialist provides proactive prioritization, strategic consultation and cultivation of the intellectual property portfolio in support of business unit intellectual property needs. An intellectual property specialist partakes intellectual property counseling, training, and mentoring of internal associates.

An intellectual property specialist requires a bachelor\'s degree and 8+ years\' related work experience. A master\'s degree is always preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An intellectual property specialist should have extensive and specialized ability to identify and resolve project related issues and provide solutions and/or recommendations to ensure the successful completion of the project. An intellectual property specialist should have detailed knowledge of patent law and regulations. In addition, the candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
