Database Administrator Jobs

A database administrator helps to drive and execute the operations of IT systems and services. Primary responsibilities of a database administrator include analyzing the database performance, making adjustments (if required) to the faulty systems, and recommending and providing instant solutions to problems. A database administrator takes responsibility for data back-ups, and secures way of storage and retrieval of the data as and when needed. Planning, implementing, installing, testing, and maintaining the databases are also part of duties of a database administrator. To trouble shoot problems, database administrators are often required to manage recovery of the lost data, re-install the required systems software's, and update the software at regular intervals.

The post of database administrator requires a bachelor's degree in computer science with additional computer training. Experience and expert knowledge in SQL Server database administration as well as strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other basic programs are usually required for such positions.
