Adoption Counselor Jobs

An adoption counselor position may be available with a public interest organization, old age homes, orphanages, or pet store. An adoption counselor is responsible for guiding individuals on whom to and how to adopt children, pets or old people; staying in touch with adopters; engaging in community relations activities; keeping close relations with and knowledge of children or old people as the case may be; giving the adopters a feeling of doing a great deed or charity; advising adopters on the education of children, the habits of children, illnesses of children or old people; showing and forwarding past medical history; making children comfortable about the process of adoption; calling up on adopted children and performing other tasks as required. An adoption counselor typically reports to the adoption manager.
An adoption counselor should have a high school diploma. Prior experience in a hospitality role may be helpful. A friendly and helpful nature is very crucial for an adoption counselor role.
