Automotive Dealer Jobs

An automotive dealer is primarily responsible for meeting and exceeding sales targets as assigned. Specific duties of an automotive dealer include calling and prospecting on customers who might be looking to buy a vehicle, understanding the budget and requirement of customers, offering automobiles that suit the customer preferences, solving customer queries, comparing the vehicle with competitor products, showing the benefits of choosing the vehicle, handling objections, and closing a sale. An automotive dealer typically reports to an automotive dealership manager. An automotive dealer position may be an inside sales or outside sales position.

An automotive dealer should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree. Excellent academic credentials may be advantageous. Excellent customer service skills are a key trait for an automotive dealer position. Strong ability to negotiate and push sales is essential.
