Automotive Machine Shop Jobs

An automotive machine shop opening may be available with an automobile manufacturer, automotive service center, or an automotive parts manufacturer. An automotive machine shop professional is primary responsible for performing maintenance or service activities on automobiles. Specific duties of an automotive machine shop professional include receiving automobile from the customers, checking the vehicle for faults or missing parts, bringing points to the notice of the customer, making a note of service aspects, taking consent of the customer in performing specific maintenance activities, dissembling a vehicle, fixing faulty parts and replacing some parts, coordinating with the parts manager and delivering the vehicle to the customer. An automotive machine shop professional generally reports to an auto service manager.

An automotive machine shop professional should have a high school diploma. Prior experience working in an automotive machine shop may be essential. Strong technical knowledge and customer service skills are desirable.
