Programmer Jobs

The primary role of a programmer is to write programs as per the instructions given by a computer software engineer or system analyst. A programmer converts the completed designs into coded instructions in a conventional programming language such as COBOL, Prolog , Java, C++ or Smalltalk, runs tests to validate the program in order to ensure the accuracy of the instructions and maintains the detailed instructions and updates, repairs and modifies the existing programs using platform specific language used in database programming. The responsibilities of a programmer include customizing generic applications and writing programs to maintain control computer system software viz. operating systems, database and networked systems. He/she uses computer assisted software engineering tools to automate the coding process and uses libraries of pre-written code that can be modified or customized for a specific application.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required for this position. A programmer is expected to be familiar with digital security issues and well conversant security technology, traditional computer language, C++, GUI, systems programming skills and database systems such as DB2, Sybase and Oracle.
