Along with cutting 13,000 jobs in the next three years, Chrysler LLC plans on cutting 10,000 workers by April 2008 to cut costs and make a ''tough'' 2008 seem less tough. It won�t be easy. Especially since Chrysler, along with General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co., is expecting one of North America�s worst sales slump in over 10 years.

According to Chrysler's CEO Bob Nardelli, "No matter what you read, no matter what you hear, it will be a tough economic marketplace. It's never an easy decision to shrink a company, but we felt we needed to get it right-sized. We didn't want to be chasing costs throughout the year. We hope we were aggressive enough, and if not, we will adjust."
