And there's more good news. Many employers plan to keep their payrolls steady into the new year. Furthermore, according to an online survey for USA Today, 60% of hiring managers plan on keeping all their full-time workers, while 29% plan on hiring new employees.
However, there is some bad news. Seven percent of those surveyed plan some job cuts, and as far as the unemployment rate — which was 4.7% in November — goes, economists predict that the number will "creep higher, but not jump, in the first half of 2008."
