"A growing elderly population generates demand for services to help them stay in their homes or in residential housing," said the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The longer people live, the more in demand health services are, especially those of personal aides. Between 2006 and 2016, the number of home-care aides is expected to increase by 50.6%. Nurses and physician assistants will also be in high demand, with their numbers expected to rise by 23% and 27%, respectively.
Another area that will benefit from the growing elderly population is personal financial advising, as more and more people will seek guidance in saving for retirement.
