Ohio has suffered a large loss in manufacturing jobs, many of which have been transferred overseas. The report claims that 209,400 total jobs were lost in the state over seven years, most of which were manufacturing jobs in Springfield, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
Springfield and Dayton posted the largest declines in jobs in the state at 10% and 7.6%, respectively. More than 75% of Ohio's metropolitan areas have witnessed steep losses in manufacturing jobs between 18% and 47%.
Nationally, the United States has lost nearly 20% of all manufacturing jobs during the same period.
