The company also hopes to cut costs — at least €800 million — by cutting jobs. According to Clemens, the company may outsource work to lower cost countries.
"Some tasks will be handled in India in the future," said a spokesman. In addition to outsourcing jobs, the company, after merging with U.S. IT services provider Cognizant, plans on adding a staff of 1,150 as a result of a new alliance with T-Systems India.
These plans are not surprising to many observers. For some time now, the company has discussed the possibility of job cuts.
