It has been reported that there is a lot of potential in job growth as far as customer service is concerned. However, to be considered for a customer care job, you need to pay as much attention to your resume as you would your customers. The tips below will help you to make a resume suitable for a job in customer service.

Have a Targeted Resume

It has been established that resumes that are targeted are generally more effective than those that are general. A targeted resume will enable the employer to immediately determine that you’re searching for a career in customer service, as opposed to leaving him guessing as to what exactly you are looking for. It has been established that the more you simplify your resume, or make what you want clear, the better chance you have at getting the job. It is, therefore, extremely essential that your resume specify the position you’re applying for.

So as to make your resume more targeted, you could try to include a career summary and include credentials that you think will be interesting to the hiring managers. You could try to include things like your experience as a customer service representative for more than five years and that you have you have a lot of front desk experience.

Emphasize the Results

Your resume can be taken to the next level if you try to put emphasis in what your work has achieved. In most cases, customer care representatives do not realize that they actually have accomplishments. However, it must be noted that they actually have accomplishments like improving ratings and contributing to positive responses. The whole purpose of making a resume is to get the employer so interested in you that they want to contact you and possibly recruit you. For example, instead of saying that you made calls, you could say you made more than two hundred calls. This will capture the attention of the employer and he will want to know more about you.

It has also been recommended that you try to quantify your results, so as to give the employer a clearer picture of what exactly you have achieved. You should state what you came into the job with and what you ended up taking from it. For example, if before you got to the job you had a 20% rating, you should state that you got up to a 70% rating after.

Show Stability

Hiring managers like to hire people that show job stability. Therefore, you resume should show that you are stable at your job. You should highlight all your employment history in a chronological manner, which will help reflect steady employment. It is, therefore, vital that you include all relevant employment history.
