If you are one of those lucky few who command a $100,000 + salary, one would assume that there would not be anything else you would wish for. Wouldn't that $100,000 salary tag look a lot more impressive and appealing, if those who gave it to you also allowed you the luxury of flexible timings, your own work schedules and no one to take you to task? An utopian dream? No, such jobs do exist and we'll tell you where they are.

1) General Counsel

Lawyers, who work as general counsels, are paid to, as their name suggests, counsel, strategize and provide legal guidance. They work at corporations and other government departments. In corporate America it is amongst the best jobs, if not the best job. Of course it has its inherent risks and it can be complex and challenging, but its impact is huge and along with the high-salaries that it attracts, it will also gain you influence and recognition.

Moreover, it is not a desk job and counselors don't need to be behind a desk all day. They are asked to do specific jobs, within a specified time frame and hence have control over their schedules. They can easily maneuver their children's birthday party and the trip to meet an ailing relative, into their schedules. Most Counsels make as much as $181,000 annually.

2) Senior Tax Manager

Most Corporations hire senior tax managers on a permanent basis and have them on their payrolls and pay them handsomely, to work exclusively for them. Tax Manager's are also overseeing finance related work for individual and small-business returns. A tax-manager's schedule varies according to the time of the year. They are busiest when deadlines approach for filing of tax returns and normally enjoy flexible timings when such pressures are not there. Majority of the work is in the first few months of the year, when deadlines and financial goals have to be met, but once the tax-season is over, the job is less demanding, or shall we say less 'taxing.'

A bachelors or master's degree is a requisite but a non-business degree may still get you the gig. However, a CPA license is required in addition to your degree. Most Tax Managers, apart from enjoying a high-profile life, can earn a median annual salary of $128,000.

3) Senior Sales Executive

For a sales executive to command a $100K+ salary, it means that he has to meet specified sales quotas or sale targets. It, as a rule, refers to business-to-business sales. A senior sales executive is also expected to pass on his expertise and sales techniques to the junior-level employees of the company. Sales executives provide their companies with business outlets that can buy their services and products and also source new avenues, within and out of the country.

Flexible timings will depend on, how soon you can meet your weekly or monthly quotas. Candidates eager to make senior sales executive ranks have to enter the profession as sales executives and progress along the way. All they need is a Bachelor's degree. However, to earn the estimated $124,000 median annual salary, they will have to work their way to the top.

4) Principal Software Engineer

Software Engineers are the ones who people go to when their computers need doctoring. But a Principal Software Engineer is one who has a depth of experience and maturity and the one with the deepest knowledge of computer technology in the company. He is the one at the top rung of the company's technical ladder and responsible for the company's software technology.

He is also expected to provide counseling and guidance to the software development teams who are working on other projects. Principal Software Engineers are also expected to implement methodologies that ensure that the company's software technologies function and bond to each other correctly.

Apart from flexible timings principal software engineers have the luxury of being able to work from home. Unfinished work at the office can be completed at ease, within your house.

Candidates with a Bachelor's or non-business master's degree can aspire for this job that could fetch you an annual median pay of $123,000

5) Management Consultant

Job-hunters aspiring to be management consultants can do so with a bachelor's degree, but must have around 8 or more years of applicable experience. It would be ideal, however, to continue studying after your BBA and get your MBA. Management consultants are in demand in companies and many other places and can be assured of a take-home annual median of $118,000.

The prime duties of a management consultant are to help with managerial strategies. With an MBA you can be self-employed or attach yourself with a consulting firm or privately held family-owned businesses. Managerial Consultants are required wherever there is organizational discord. In addition to flexible timings, Managerial Consultants, being an in-demand job, you even get to hand-pick your clients.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
