On weekends, we fantasize what we want. Those 48 hours make us about partying, relaxing, sleeping, reading and many other things. We have been brainwashed to take off on weekends. That is the reason why most of us don't like to work on weekends. Some of us enjoy either partying or taking rest, while others run around meeting the family obligations.

Working On Weekends
Change your thinking and you find working on a weekend won't be a bad idea. No longer, you have to get up on Monday mornings and hate going to work.

The best part of working on Saturdays and Sundays is that no one takes your time, the entire time is yours. On weekends you can work at your pace on your terms without anybody interrupting you.

Stress free workweek

Hitherto you might have been taking rest on Saturdays and Sundays to work the rest of the five days without any stress. But our experience tells us the entire workweek can easily be spoiled by the weekend social obligations like spouse's office party, your kid's school function or a night at the opera.

If you enjoy working on weekends, you can fight weekday disruptions without getting jittery. For instance you have to take up a project due in a week and the pre-project work is disrupted today. You need not worry because you can make up the time lost by working on a Saturday or Sunday and begin the project on schedule. You have to reassure yourself that you can take care of what is left unfinished today; it can be done when you have time at your disposal.

Extra earning

You can earn more money by working on weekends in those companies where more is paid for working on the weekends. Another way to earn more money is to find a part-time job on Saturday and Sunday, if your full-time job doesn't need you on weekends. This arrangement gives you an opportunity to acquire new skills making your resume sparkle.

Time management

To manage all this without any stress needs time management. You can do some work on weekends provided you plan it properly. Knowing you need to keep an appointment or run an errand in the noon, you must get up early and work for a few hours. That way you can take up extra work without disrupting your weekend schedule. A few early morning hours may be more productive than a full day work.

Work-life balance

Work-life balance is very much needed. If you want to make justice to both work and personal life, you must set apart some time for your family and yourself. Hard work throughout the seven days may not bring you any reward, while a few hours of sacrifice on weekends for finishing a project or giving a helping hand to your boss will definitely bring you recognition.

If your colleagues approach you for covering their shifts on weekends once in a while and you work for them, you will get some extra money. As a result, you will be known as a good team player. Besides, you can enjoy your off while others toil.
