Managing your micromanager often requires you to equip yourself with skill, wit, and a little bit of luck. This sort of task should be performed in the most professional way. If handled correctly, you will not hinder the office environment or workflow. People know how unproductive a micromanager can be. Being managed can be extremely demoralizing.

Managing A Micromanager
This sort of job can even shake your level of confidence and always makes you second guess yourself, your abilities, and your skillset. A simple task that you typically can accomplish in minutes may now take you hours.

Sometimes micromanagers will do work on your behalf and you will never know about it. You will come across these types of situations and you may be tempted to bolt. However, due to the high unemployment rate you may not do so. So, you may be asking, what is the best thing you can do?

You need to learn how to manage the micromanager. First off, get an understanding of the individual. What drives them to be that way? The need to control things, in most cases, stems from an insecurity that an individual may have in the workplace. People who lack confidence, and cannot handle pressure may start acting in this way.

This is a kind of psychological issue and it can affect other people at the workplace as well. A lot of people have the propensity to act as a micromanager; but, there are a few who can control it better than others. Managing the micromanager often requires an individual to follow these steps:

First, You Need to Search for Patterns

Micromanagers are often predictable. These people can be determined with their work; their behavior and approach at the office are a testament to that. . Their determination drives them to become agitated easily and often. Figure out what causes them anxiety and then either (a) provide a solution to get around the situation or (b) provide a solution to their agitation (yoga, hot tea, etc.) If you can figure out what makes them go off, then easing them should not be difficult

Second, Anticipate the Requirements

If you can figure out what makes them anxious, then it will be easier to stay one step ahead of them. Avoiding tension before it starts makes a happy office.
