You can find a lot of irritating employees in the workplaces. Irritation can stem from a lot of different issue: an employee that talks too much, or does not do their job, or sucks up to the boss. For the most part, employees make it their goal to do excellent work on the job. Your coworkers also have the same mindset: do good work; you're happy, the boss is happy, everyone is happy. Sometimes, however, you will find 2, 3 or more employees that unbalance job harmony; they can have bad behavior, delay to finish office work, or just purely uncooperative.

Managing Irritation At Work
Do Not Openly Despise Your Coworker

This will cause unnecessary conflict and drama in the office. Put on your happy face, smile and continue with your work. If you cannot handle that, then your time at your job will be difficult. Other people will sense the tension you have and feed off of it. When you are outside of the office, find a way to relieve yourself. That way your disdain does not build up from not dealing with the issues.

Irritations Always Create Bigger Problems

You may feel that you are the only one irritated by your coworker. Trust that you are not. Other coworkers will be irritated by the irritation and are trying to conceal it just as you are. This will create problems for everyone. There are certain types of irritating coworkers, it may seem stereotypical but they do exist: the office idiot, the office gossip, the office bigot, the office problem-factory, the office prankster, etc. They may think they are normal but they cause extreme havoc in the work place. Sometimes they do not even know it.

Don't Be Afraid to Confront

In every work environment there is at least one irritating coworker. Do not give the satisfaction of letting them get to you. Do your work and do a good job. Do what you came there to do. Cause if you do not, your purpose within the company is jeopardized. Causing a scene will jeopardize your job. The best solution is to ignore your coworker. Once they have seen that you are not invested in their foolishness then they will move on to find someone else; thus, leaving you in the clear.

These types of situations cause the less patient employees to quit their jobs; it becomes that unbearable. However, for the most part, most people hang in there do their jobs and ignore all work place issues. Create a social distance-meaning that do not become "buddy buddy" with the irritant coworker. Be cordial and respectful but do not entertain their negative behavior. If it is persistent and you feel the need to speak about it to the coworker do so in a mild fashion. Do not let your emotions speak for you. Who knows, they may stop right then and there; and you and the rest of the office will continue to thrive.
